OUR PROGRAM:

The core of the program is to mentor the children through creative writing activities and tutoring sessions, both in the summer and throughout the academic year.  The initial stage of the program was a two-week writing workshop that took place in the summer.  This workshop ran from 9am to 3pm in order to facilitate attendance and family logistics.  During the academic year the program runs every Saturday morning.

YouReach is for girls and boys ages 8 to 12 to practice and work on their writing skills while focusing on their Hispanic American heritage. The children meet, interview, and write about local Hispanic role models.  They also write about their hopes for the future and learn about the importance of education as well as giving back to the community.

YouReach provides all necessary materials and meals for the students.  The entire program is free of charge and is funded by donations.
